SABEW conference scholarships are available

The SABEW Chair is offering 10 scholarships to the fall SABEW conference, to be held Oct. 20-21 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, for first-time attendees.

The scholarships will cover the $175 registration fee. Deadline to apply for the scholarship is Thursday, Sept. 20. Send a short, one-paragraph essay explaining your background and why you would benefit from attending to Marty Steffens, SABEW Chair, Missouri School of Journalism, by emailing steffensm@missouri.edu. Winners will be notified by Friday, Sept. 21.

In addition, the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC-Chapel Hill is offering one $1,000 scholarship to the fall SABEW conference.

The scholarship is expected to cover the participant's registration, lodging and travel.

To apply, please send a 500-word essay on why attending the conference would be beneficial and a resume to Allison Adams at Allison_Adams@kenan-flagler.unc.edu.

The deadline to apply is Sept. 21. The winner will be notified on Monday, Sept. 24.
